Cause

When you plug a protection key into the USB port, the detection is automatic, except when you use a COMPAQ 1600 Notebook.

Solution

1. First plug in the USB key then unplug it 
2. Click the Start button, choose Settings - Control Panel 
3. Click on System and choose Device Manager
4. Under Other devices, you will find XXX with a yellow icon, click on it and then click on Remove.
5. Plug in the USB key again. Now it will be correctly installed.
